As our Campaign moves forward into the next phase, fundraising will now start to become a more important feature and as such we would like to ensure that each fundraising event gets as much organisational as well as attendance support as possible.

Listed below are the events that are currently in the process of being organised – if you wish to organise your own fundraiser then do please contact us letting us know a bit more about your plans as well as what help or resources you would like help with.  Contact the MAP Fundraising Team

  • 11th September – Sponsored Half Marathon

    Helen Cox – Sponsorship monies to be split between the MAP Fighting Fund (60%), Meifod Playgroup (20%) and Marie Curie (20%) with Meifod Playgroup kindly collecting and distributing the donations  Contact Helen Cox

  • 30th July – ‘Take The Power Back’ Sustainable Life Festival, Mathrafal

    MAP Events Team – A day of family fun, music, games and entertainment bringing together communities near and far to the glorious mid Wales setting of one of the threatened valleys whilst raising funds to fight against the industrialisation of rural mid Wales & beyond.

    Whilst campaigning against the planned industrialisation of mid Wales, and beyond, we also wish to start exploring the alternative sustainable energy options available to us all. So in addition to our food, crafts and general market place we will also be hosting a variety sustainable energy stalls.

  • 18th June – Sponsored 42mile Across Wales Walk

    Martin Pearce & Chris Phillips – 50% Split of Sponsorship monies between the MAP Fighting Fund and Children with Cancer  Contact Martin Pearce

    The Rotary Across Wales Walk is organised by the 2 Rotary Clubs of Llanidloes and Newtown. The full walk is 42 miles from Glandyfi which is close to the high tide point of the River Dyfi to the Anchor which is just over the border in Shropshire.
