With us in Spirit – MOC24
We are aware that not all of you are able to make it down to be with us in Cardiff for the ‘March on Cardiff’ but that you will be with us in spirit. On that basis we have found a way to help you to keep in touch with events as they happen … we are asking everyone tweeting from the protest area to add the hashtag #MOC24 so that live updates appear below.
Please send us your brief message so that we may add your voice to ours to be displayed both on this page and on the With us in Spirit Banner which will be on show throughout the rally
Please help us spread the word to ensure we add as many extra ‘voices’ to the protest as we possibly can.

Please listen to the people of the beautiful Welsh Countryside. I always thought we lived in a democracy…..
– Camilla R
Sending you all positive thoughts for tomorrow. Wishing you a really successful day!
You all show ’em!
– Alison from Hertfordshire
The government promise to listen to the people…let’s hope they listen to you tomorrow! I won’t be there in person but certainly in spirit!
Very best of luck to everyone at the demo in Cardiff tomorrow, sorry I couldn’t be with you
I’m backing you all in preventing the pylons and windfarms ruining our beautiful countryside.
– Francesca Marsh
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who are representing us in Cardiff.
For each one of you, there are at least ten more like me unable to make it to Cardiff and we thank you for being there for us. Our countryside is in your hands. Bless you all. With love,
Hello and thank you so much for allowing us (who really want to be there) but through circumstances not our choosing, can’t be. I support you and I appreciate you representing MANY of us by being in Cardiff. You are (though you don’t yet appreciate it) part of a quite momentous event that will put Mid Wales on a Pan European map for all the right reasons. I urge you to remember, that this agenda of undemocratic, elitist ideology and money making is part of an insidious programme of social engineering quite unlike anything we have seen in modern history. Many regards and goodwishes to you all.
– Stephen McKeown
110% behind you guys! wish I could be there in person but definitely with you in spirit!! Go show them we mean business!!! – No turbines, no pylons and no hub!!!!!
– Lisa Evans
Neither my husband nor myself can be with you all on Tuesday – but as we carry on the protest back here in Abermule, Mid Wales, our thoughts and our spirits will be with you in Cardiff. MAKE ‘EM SIT UP AND LISTEN! MONTGOMERYSHIRE UNITED!
– Pauline Albrecht
My message for those in Cardiff; You may not value our wild and natural places now but you WILL miss them when they are gone!
– Sarah L
Although I now live in Shropshire,we spent 12 years hill sheep farming in Llanbrynmair. We cannot believe thatyou think so little of your country and its value so meaningless that you areprepared to destroy it in this way.
– Theresa and Stephen Lewis
Let the Assembly know in no uncertain terms that those on the March are only the tip of a very big iceberg of angry people who will not allow this desecration.
– Pat & Alan H
My husband is away on business and I am unable to attend inperson in Cardiff tomorrow due to work commitments, but rest assured we areboth with you and the all the others in Spirit and want you to add our voicesto the many who will be there campaigning to keep our part of Wales in the idyllicway that it is at present.
– Don & Coral Milborrow
Hi, We can’t be there as we have a hospital appointment. We just want the WAG how strongly we feel about the destruction of our countryside. There’s nothing green about these ridiculous plans! A tiny bit of research exposes the threats to our health, the environment through destruction of birdlife and bat habitats, flooding, the threat to tourism, zero carbon savings and for very little energy generation. It’s all about being seen to be green. There’s no democracy in having three different bodies making decisions about component parts of what will be the huge power station that Montgomeryshire will become. The consultation process is a joke. Massive wind farms are not the way forward. Individual homes should be given support to conserve and generate their own electricity, that would give real power to the people. We are so proud of those who have gone to Cardiff.
– Diane, Ian and Jacob
Good luck all tomorrow, I wish I could be with you!
– Sian Spear
March to the Assembly knowing that each of you represents a dozen others who can’t make it although they want to. So if there are 2000 bodies present there will be about 24000 others with you in spirit!
– Chris W
Don’t let them come – Na Na Na!
– Ysgol Meifod
Will unfortunately be unable to be with you all tomorrow due to child & work commitments but will be thinking of you all. Show them we mean business and won’t be railroaded into destroying the beautiful countryside where we all live.
– Jon, Katherine, Matthew, David & Thelma Larter
Everyone at Abermule School supports the March on Cardiff – go on! Tell them how it is! TAN8 must be reviewed and democratically debated! It’s our children’s future!
– Abermule School
Stop Raping the countryside.
– Rick Robson
Good luck to you all and I Sincerely hope the Welsh Assembley get the message .. we do not want pylons in Montgomeryshire OR Shropshire.
– Cllr David Roberts
Hi, Maggie and I are sorry we are unable to join you on the rally on Tuesday, but we are away on holiday. We will be with you in spirit and hope it is a success.
– Maggie & Charles Baldock
The countryside is our past, our present and our future. Don’t let the National Grid trample on it.
– Anna, Adam, Noah and Caspar
Wishing you all the luck in the world, so sorry we can’t be with you but Chris and I are there in spirit.
All Power to you.
– Chris & Judy Menges
Reverand Peter Wyatt will be holding a short church service at St Cynon’s Church Tregynon on Tues 24th at 11am for those who are not able to go to Cardiff. All are Welcome.
Why not make it a joint visit to Tregynon, take a tour of the beautiful Gregynog Hall sample lunch or tea in the coffee shop and take a look at the newly opened apiary. Well worth a look.
– Cllr Joy Shearer
We are totally in favour of your action but are not in the UK at the moment and wish for our voice to be heard. The turbines and the pylons are an eyesore. They will not make the difference that is needed or the difference that the proponents claim, but WILL ruin the most beautiful parts of our country
– Dick & Judith Sawle
I’m sorry I can’t be there but I’m definitely “WITH YOU IN SPIRIT’. Thank you for going to represent the views of so many folk from Montgomeryshire.
We do NOT want these pylons in our beautiful valleys. We do NOT want close on a 1000 massive turbines on our hillsides and we do NOT want the ancillary traffic implications on our country roads and lanes. I fear if we do not speak up and get these plans to spoil Montgomeryshire stopped, future generations will say “Whatever were you thinking of when you allowed this to happen?’ – and for what, a relatively small supply of renewable energy. The small gain just does not warrant the desecration of such a beautiful landscape.
– Kate Swan
I will be unable to be with you on Tuesday as my headteacher having sort advice from the powers that be wont allow me. I am gutted but my partner will be going and my daughter is coming up from Southampton in the middle of her first year uni exams. My two sons Aron and Dylan Gilbert James will also not be there as I cannot take them.
Dewch CYMRY. I’r Gad. The dragon’s flames are burning.
MY heart and spirit will be with you all the way on Tuesday.
– Debbie Gilbert , Aron Gilbert James , Dylan Gilbert James
